What does “reality debugging” actually mean?
It's a metaphor, not a metaphysics. Your brain builds a running model of reality and then acts on the model, not on reality itself. When the model has bugs — catastrophising, mind-reading, fusing with a thought — you suffer over things that aren't happening.
Debugging means noticing the model, testing it against evidence, and updating it. The tools here are drawn from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and breath-based nervous-system regulation.
Is this therapy or medical advice?
No. Neuroatomic is a set of self-help exercises based on well-studied psychological techniques. It is not a substitute for a licensed therapist, and it is not appropriate for a crisis.

Is my data private?
Yes. Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Thought records and settings live only in your device's local storage and are never uploaded. There are no accounts and no login. The only network call is a single privacy-friendly page-view counter.
Why the cyberpunk terminal aesthetic?
Because the framing helps. Treating an intrusive thought as a process you can inspect and terminate — rather than a truth about you — is exactly the psychological move these techniques teach.
The void, the terminal, and the black hole are honest metaphors for the observing self: the awareness thoughts pass through, which is never the thought itself.
Do the breathing patterns really do anything?
Slow, paced breathing at roughly five to six breaths per minute reliably raises heart-rate variability and shifts the autonomic nervous system toward its calming (parasympathetic) branch. That's a measurable physiological effect, not a belief.
